Her research at the IEE-ULB

The title of Ms. Katarzina Krzyzanowska’s doctoral thesis is “Constitutional identity as an expression of tensions between European integration and disintegration”. The question the dissertation attempts to answer is how the Polish constitutional judges understand constitutional identity and how do they envision the relation of the national constitutional arrangements and the EU supremacy principle in light of the recent constitutional developments, sometimes in a direct conflict with the EU law provisions.

During her research stay, Ms. Katarzina Krzyzanowska will focus on the socio-legal framework used to analyse constitutional identity. Her visit at the IEE-ULB will allow her to further develop the research outcomes of her PhD, while finalizing the empirical findings and their discussion.
