The Long March to Primacy

The chapter of “Europe and the protection of its values” closes with the article of Giulia La Torre. She is PhD candidate at the Centre for European Law of the ULB and at UNIGE, as well as a GEM-DIAMOND Doctoral Fellow.  

In her article Giulia La Torre reminds us that as the IEE celebrates its 60th year of existence, the 60th anniversary of the Costa v. ENEL judgement is fast approaching. 60 years is, no doubt, a long time. And yet, the primacy of EU law, as first recognized in that judgement all those years ago, remains today as controversial as ever.
