Evaluating CETA: a web conference

The webconference Évaluer le CETA : acquis, problèmes et contexte international (Evaluating CETA: achievements, problems and international context) offered a first exchange opportunity between European and Canadian academics on the achievements, problems and international context of the CETA which entered into force on September 21, 2017. The economic, commercial and legal dimensions of the agreement, as well as CETA in the context of the world trade crisis and COVID-19 served as the framework to this interdisciplinary discussion.

The President of the IEE, Professor Ramona Coman, in her introductory words, proposed “a rich and interdisciplinary exchange between European and Canadian academics in order to examine this agreement in its economic, commercial and legal aspects as well as its place in the context of world trade and COVID19 ”. The web conference brought together around thirty academics and experts.

Organised in partnership with the Embassy of Canada, the online event counted with the presence of H.E.Olivier Nicoloff, Ambassador of Canada to the Kingdom of Belgium and to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
