Master in Economics

The Master’s degree in Economics – Economic Analysis and European Policy is 120-credit academic programme taught in English and French. The Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management manages it under the IEE-ULB label.


The Master in Economics – Economic Analysis and European Policy offers students a broad reflection on economic issues in Europe. They are trained to innovate in an ever-changing world.

The Master’s programme in Economics

The curriculum for this Master’s degree offers a common platform and a choice of 3 specialisations:

  • Europe and the world
  • Innovation and markets
  • Socio-economic policy

All courses are taught in English, subject to exception for some options. They address the European economy in a transversal way. It also covers various topics, such as employment, competition, growth, etc.

Objectives

The Master in Economics trains students to become applied economists, policymakers, consultants and business professionals in sectors and jobs requiring technical and analytical skills.

It provides them with up-to-date quantitative and conceptual tools for economic, statistical and financial analysis, and it prepares them for policy and business practice.

The programme has a strong European flavour which manifests itself in specialized courses (such as European competition policy) or in the careful consideration, in other courses, of the specifics of the European dimension.

The Master in “Economic Analysis and European Policy” covers the full range of economic issues (employment, competition, growth, development, redistribution etc.) and policy-making challenges, from the sector- or industry-level to the national economy and the world.
