Employment support

The Institute for European Studies cares about daily support for student professionalisation. Discover below all initiatives we undertake along the year to ease your access to the labour market.

Compulsory or optional professionalisation module

Pioneer initiative at the ULB, the professionalization module is compulsory in the master in European studies and optional in the advanced Masters. It accounts depending on the programmes for 15 to 30% of the curriculum.

The module is composed first of a professionalization seminar. The double objective is to accompany the student, the future candidate, to define and develop his professional project and on the other hand to better know the reality of the labour market in order to walk him towards an EU career. The course has 4 axis :

  • Elaborate one’s own professional project
  • Develop a toolbox as a job seeker
  • Build one’s own mapping of the labour market
  • Enlarge one’s professional network

Besides, the module includes an internship as well as an internship report. For the Master in European Studies, it also contains a simulation game and the intervention of practitioners.

Alumni network

The Institut d'Etudes Européennes of the Université libre de Bruxelles turned fifty in 2013-2014. Backed up by this rich history which has established it as aplace of training excellence in Europe, it is now projecting itself into the future by renewing contact with all those who have spent time in the ULB. The AlumnIEE association has a vocation to bring all the graduates of the IEE-ULB together. Its objectives are to promote convivial moments and mutual help between its members; to be a source of information and contacts, especially for the youngest in their careers. To this purpose, numerous activities are organised during the year such as a mentoring programme or conferences followed by a drink for former and current students to gather.

Job Day

Every spring a Job Day is organised and focuses on the professional inclusion of our future graduates. Numerous conferences are held from EU practitioners in various fields as well as from a professional coach, recruiters' and CV stands are set up, a drink is planned with our alumni, etc.

In the framework of the professionalization module or in a more autonomous way during or after your studies, the internship is an important step in the life of the future graduate of the IEE. We regularly support students in their search by uploading internship offers on the student intranet and by signing framework conventions with key business partners to welcome students on a regular basis.

Employment offers

All employment offers that we receive thanks to our network are disseminated on the student intranet, the Facebook page of the IEE or our Alumni Facebook group.
