EU-Japan C2C Webinar

The webinar: Diffusion and Contestation of the Sustainable Development Goals

Half-a-day online workshop on the diffusion and contestation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on the (Inter-) Regional dynamics supported by Japan and/or the EU regarding Health, Education, and Decent Work Standards – i.e. SDGs n°3,4 & 8. Ultimately, the discussion at the workshop are to lead to the production of a jointly edited volume bringing together European and Japanese scholarship in the field.

4 Sessions

Overall the event will be divided into four hour-and-a-half long sessions: first, an overarching framing discussion on (1) Norm Diffusion Theory, followed by three case-study focused sessions, including (2) Health, (3) Education, and (4) Decent Work.

Contributions are scheduled by Japanese and European scholars, from the IEE-ULB, GSAPS Waseda, and beyond. While entirely online, each session will also include a question & answer session to encourage feedback and interaction with those in attendance.
