The Executive Master in European Union Studies (MEUS)

Academic Director: Prof. Anne WEYEMBERGH and Prof. Ramona COMAN

Administrative coordinator: Mr Pierre VIEREZET

MEUS is intended for EU professionals wishing to refine their knowledge and skills on the specific issues European Institutions deal with on a daily basis, in Brussels and elsewhere.

Description

MEUS is intended for professionals wishing to refine their knowledge and skills on the specific issues European Institutions deal with on a daily basis, in Brussels and elsewhere.

MEUS proposes a perfect balance between high-level academic requirements and a “self-empowerment” approach, in harmony with the “professionalization” facet of the degree (executive certificate – European Qualification Framework level 7)

Flexibility is ensured.

  • Classes are offered in the evening (and on Saturdays for some courses), fully in English.
  • Students may choose to follow parts of the programme.

According to their preference and professional needs, students can register for the “professionalization module” or for one of the elective modules offered in the MEUS.

The 60 credit program can be completed in one or two years.

Degree delivered by the Institute for European Studies:

The full program (60 credits) leads to a certificate of "Executive Master in European Union Studies" and its annex.

MEUS corresponds to level 7 in the European Qualification Framework (EQF)

Descriptors defining EQF level 7 are summarized below

EQF7    Knowledge   Skils   Competence

Highly specialised knowledge, some of which is at the forefront of knowledge in a field of work or study, as the basis for original thinking and/or research

Critical awareness of knowledge issues in a field and at the interface between different fields
Specialised problem-solving skills required in research and/or innovation in order to develop new knowledge and procedures and to integrate knowledge from different fields    Manage and transform work or study contexts that are complex, unpredictable and require new strategic approaches; take responsibility for contributing to professional knowledge and practice and/or for reviewing the strategic performance of teams

Note : This certificate does not lead to a master diploma as such. Choosing only optional modules or specific courses leads to a certification of participation and its annex (the number of credits varies from one course to another depending on the number of teaching hours devoted to each topic).
