Conference : If you pollute, you pay ?
The associations Eyes on Europe, SAIES, écolo j ULB, Délégation Specque de l’ULB and CEE&T had the great idea to work together in order to organise the conference “If you pollute, you pay ? The principle of polluter payer in the European Union”
Where? At the ULB
When? The conference will start at 18h30 and will be followed by a drink.
The conference will be held in French!
The event will take place in the line of the “durability day” organised by ULB Environnement – Student Green Office SGO and the Service Environnement et Mobilité that will take place the 24th of April.
Polluter – payer
The principle is quite simple; it basically means that if a company pollutes within the EU, it will be sanctioned fiscally. This principle is quite well integrated in the free economy and the free market but due to some limitations it seems to be suffering sometimes. It is therefore important to quantify the consequences of the pollution and to try to fix a price.
